Top ways to propose for lovers of the great outdoors

Here at The Date Outdoors, we’re noticing that plenty of love is in the air – or so our members keep telling us.
We recently heard a particularly unusual proposal by a man in Henley-on-Thames. The local newspaper asked: “Is this the most romantic man in Henley?” after his Hollywood style proposal involving boats, balloons and an undercover choir.
So in celebration of the love that’s all around us, we thought it would be appropriate to provide you with some romantic and unusual ways to that people have come up with to pop the question.
The Date Outdoors have heard of some pretty unusual and romantic ways of proposing – a bit of a departure from getting down on one knee. Here are some of our favourites.
·         Making a YouTube Video. This very endearing Video Proposal was made on a simple mobile phone and made us go all gooey inside! If you’re a bit of an exhibitionist, this is a great way to pop the question. Choose your favourite outdoor location, a few props and it’s done, no going back!
·         Carry on camping. Lovers of the great outdoors have even proposed during a camping trip (Could be a dampener if the weather doesn’t behave!) Clever ideas have been to suddenly produce the ring out of the cooking pot or hide it under her sleeping bag.
·         Visiting the exact spot of your first ever date – for outdoor locations, a picnic and a bottle of champagne is a great favourite.
·         Christmas is a lovely time to propose (as I will vouch!). We’ve heard some romantic souls have even hung the wrapped-up ring box as an ornament on the tree. It’s certainly a proposal that’s remembered for years to come.
·         Laying out a treasure hunt with a trail of little presents or clues until she comes to the big one – in as romantic a final location as possible of course!
·         Those with a musical ear have busked their way to proposing. But we imagine you’d have to be brave to pull off this stunt – and pretty confident she’ll say yes.
We look forward to hearing your proposal stories in due course – do tell us how you got on!
Julie
